NOTICE OF RACE
Espergærde Sejlklub announce the regatta and the 2006 Wiibroe Cup Trophy,
The official Danish Championship 2006 and the Open Danish Championship 2006
of the SNIPE CLASS.
1 RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in
the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
1.2
The applying prescriptions of the Scandinavian Sailing Association and the
Danish Sailing Association will be incorporated into the sailing instructions.
1.3 Furthermore, the following rules will apply:
The SCIRA Rules of Conduct for Conducting National Championship Regattas will
be incorporated into the sailing instructions. In case of conflict between
the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instruction the Sailing Instructions shall
prevail.
The Rules for Danish Championships will apply.
1.4 The Rules are changed as follows:
·1 Rules 30.2 and 30.3 will be changed
by a prescription of the Scandinavian Sailing Association. The base of the
triangle in these rules includes the extensions of the starting line to the
starting vessel and to a control vessel in the opposite end.
·2 The preamble to Part 4 will be changed, to state that the obligation
to wear personal buoyancy when signal flag Y is displayed not only applies
while racing.
·3 Rules 35 and A4 will be changed to state, that boats failing to
finish within 20 minutes after the first boat sails the course and finishes
will be scored Did Not Finish.
·4 Rule 60.1(a) will be changed to state, that a competitor cannot
protest another boat or competitor for breaches for some specific parts of
the sailing instructions.
·5 Rules 61.3 and 62.2 will be changed to fix the protest time to 60
minutes for competitors, protest committee as well as race committee.
·6 Rule 66 will be changed to shorten the time limit for reopening
protest hearings.
·7 Rule A4 will be changed by stating, that at boat starting later
than 5 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start.
The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions.
1.5 ADVERTISING
This regatta is classified as Category “C” in accordance with
the RRS and SCIRA Advertising Prescriptions.
2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1 The regatta is open to the SNIPE class.
2.2 Each competitor must be (strikethrough: member) a member of an approved
yacht club affiliated with ISAF/National Authority. Each skipper must be a
member of his/her National SCIRA according to the SCIRA rules. As Danish boats
are competing in The official Danish Championship must both skipper and crew
be a member of SCIRA according to the SCIRA rules. Each skipper shall hold
a valid SCIRA membership card to be presented at registration together with
a valid measurement certificate.
2.3 Eligible boats may enter by using the ENTRY FORM.

3 FEES
3.1 Entry fees are: DKK 750,00 or Euro 100,00 including Saturday Night Dinner
for 2 persons (ex. drinks). Additional Dinner Tickets can be bought separately.
4 SCHEDULE
4.1 Registration:
Friday June 2.

The regatta office at Espergærde Sejlklub opens,
Check in and registration.
4.2 Measurement:
All competing boats are a subject to measurement
at any time during the regatta.
4.3 Dates of racing:
Saturday June 3.

Warning signal of the first race and second and third race in continuation.
Sunday June 4.

Warning signal of the first race of the day and second and third race in continuation.
Monday June 5:
09.55
Warning signal of the first race and second race in continuation.
(If less than 3 races are completed Saturday,
the race committee will try to complete 4 races on Sunday the 5th. If less
than 6 races are completed Saturday and Sunday, the race committee will try
to complete the scheduled series of 8 races on Monday the 6.th.)
4.4 The attention signals for the following races will be made as soon as
practicable.
4.5 No warning signal will be made after 12,30 Monday the 6.th.
5 MEASUREMENTS
All boats shall produce a valid measurement certificate and are subject to
measurement at any time at the reasonable discretion of the Class or Race
Committee. All boats are required to have a current Class decal properly displayed.
6 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available at registration and primary sailing
instructions will be published on www.snipe.dk
7 VENUES
7.1 The regatta harbour will be Espergærde Havn.
7.2 The course will be located in Øresund off Espergærde Havn,
Danish Chart No. 131.
8 THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed are the Class approved courses as published in the
current SCIRA Official Rulebook and SCIRA web site.
9 PENALTY SYSTEM
Rule 44.1. 44.2 and 44.4 will be used.
10 SCORING
10.1 The Low Point System of Appendix A will apply.
10.2 8 races are scheduled of which 4 races are required to constitute a Danish
Championship and the Open Danish Championship.
10.3 When 4 (four) or more races have been completed, a boat’s series
score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. (Only
one race will be discounted.).
11 SAFETY
Danish legislation requires every boat to be equipped with personal buoyancy
for the number of persons on board at any time.
12 SUPPORT BOATS
Support boats shall be credit to Organizing Committee that will assign identification.
13PRIZES
Prizes will be given as follows:
Wiibroe Cup 2006
The WIIBROE CUP TROPHY will be awarded to the overall winning team.
There will be honourable prices for every fifth boats registered. (Max. 10 prices).
DIF-DM 2006
According to the prescription of the Danish Sailing Federation will "The Danish Champion" be awarded with DIF plaquettes (gold) as well as the challenge trophy for the Danish Championship.
Plaquettes for second (silver) and third (bronze) will be awarded for "Danish” boats.
"The Danish Junior Champion" will be awarded the challenge trophy for the Danish Junior Championship.
Open Danish Championship 2006
The overall winning team irrespective of nationality
will be awarded with The PERSSON CHALLENGE TROPHY as winner of the “Open
Danish Championship”.
14 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. (See rule
4, Decision to Race.) The organising authority will not accept any liability
for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with
or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
15 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability
insurance with a minimum cover of DKK 5.0 mill. per event for personal damage
and DKK 2.0 mill. per event for material damage or equivalent.
